Sequencer
Song View
This grid shows the tracks in rows, and the measures
in the columns.
The little diamonds show something's there, even
just if it's a key sig in track 0.
There is no grid in this sequencer for a measure by channel
view; just by track.
Three measures from tracks 2-4 at measure 15 are selected.
But they are empty; shown by the little outline squares.
Say you like the whole song at bars 17-18.
You want to repeat it once again, at 19-20.
So you click at the top and it grabs all the tracks at those
measures:
You copy - Control-Insert, say.
Then you just click above measure 19, which selects all
the tracks there, and paste - and a copy of 17 and 18
is inserted before what had been measure 19, which is shifted over
to 21.
And you can do the same just for a few selected tracks, or just one.
Say just the drums at 18 sound like you might like to repeat them for
a few measures.
You can insert a couple of blank measures for all tracks starting
at 19, shifting everything over that follows.
Then copy the drums at 18, and paste them just to the drum
track of the new, blank measures.
Let's say 22 is the end of the song, but you like
the steel drums and congas together, back at measure 12.
Just select steel drums and congas at 12, copy them,
move over to 23 and select the steel drum and conga track,
which here would show as two little open squares (cause they'd be empty),
and paste.
So this view is useful for the somewhat larger changes.
You delete entire measures, move them around,
erase the stuff from the measures of one or more tracks,
copy them over as just mentioned, and so on.
